Provider Networks

Dental and vision coverage are two of the most-requested benefits1 and provider networks are a key ingredient to the plan’s success. We’ve built one of the largest dental networks in the Mid-Atlantic2 and the vision network is an industry leader. Members have access to more than 7,500 dentist listings and 5,500 vision providers regionally and more than 135,000 participating dentist listings and 47,000 vision providers nationally.

Dentist Network

Our full-time professional services staff ensures that our dentist networks are continually growing. Dominion continues to be exceptionally successful at recruiting new providers due to its attractive compensation formula and unique recruiting techniques.

Select Plan dentists must attend a provider seminar or a personal meeting in their office before being accepted. This ensures compliance with plan procedures and their familiarity with Dominion’s administrative policy. As a result, network retention is maximized and plan administration is a positive experience for both doctor and patient.

The Dominion Quality Assurance (QA) Program and Complaint Procedure has been filed with the appropriate State Departments of Health. To ensure absolute accuracy and integrity of results, a third-party QA contractor performs our provider office reviews. Our contractors are licensed dentists with at least 10 years of experience, not auxiliary personnel. Scoring is detailed, consistent and objective.

Vision Network

Dominion provides access to one of the largest vision networks in the country through EyeMed Vision Care. Choose from more than 47,000 provider listings (over 5,500 in the Mid-Atlantic)2 including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical and Target Optical.3 More than 70% of EyeMed provider locations are available with evening hours or on the weekend.

EyeMed is owned by Luxottica Corporation, the world’s largest optical company (a $6.4 billion global organization), and administers benefits to over 24 million members.
